Clonetab’s Oracle Home autopatching is a module that can apply the Oracle Database Home patches in an automated way. This module of Clonetab is used to apply Oracle home patches (Fleet patching). Mostly used during the Quarterly security updates released by Oracle. This can apply multiple patches in one round, and it can take care of all the pre post and custom steps including shutdown of oracle EBS, PeopleSoft or database services.

How it Works

The tool will download all the required patches from Oracle suite (optional) or customer can download and place it in a common folder accessible to all the hosts where the patches needs to be applied.

The tool will run the steps in below sequence.

  1. Shutdown services based on instance type (Oracle database or e-Business Suite).
  2. Update the OPatch version if requested.
  3. Run Opatch for all patches
  4. Run datapatch
  5. Bring up the Services.
  6. Run if there are any custom scripts added (This step can go anywhere based on customer input).
